About David Hage
Thank you for your interest in David Hage Counseling & Consulting Services. David Hage, MSW, LSW, C-ASWCM provides generalist practice counseling services under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) while he works towards the completion of his LCSW license. As an Advanced Aging Life Care™ professional, David provides geriatric care management support to aging individuals and families to help maximize independence and quality of life. David also serves as a consultant to social service, aging related, and healthcare industry professionals as well. In all areas of David’s practice, he uses a strengths-based and empathetic approach, recognizing the people he works with as experts in their own situations. Working from the assumption that positive change is possible, David helps those he collaborates with better define what they hope to achieve and a realistic path to get there.
David Hage earned a BSW degree from Misericordia University, an MSW from Marywood University, and is in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. at Concordia University Chicago in Leadership & Gerontology. He is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Certified Advanced Social Work Case Manager (C-ASWCM), Certified Remotivation Therapist-Level II (CRMT II), and Certified Advanced Aging Life Care Professional™ (previously called Certified Geriatric Care Manager). On a full-time basis, David Hage is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and the Director of Field Education at Misericordia University. Within the social work program, David teaches Social Welfare Policy, Theory & Practice, and Junior/Senior level field seminars, while supervising concurrent field practicums. David has taught or currently also adjunctly teaches in the Gerontology, Patient Navigator, Psychology, and Sociology programs as well. In addition to counseling and consulting, David’s other direct practice experience includes work with economically disadvantaged children and families in low-income housing, a maternity home for homeless pregnant women, a rural community action agency, acute care hospital inpatient rehabilitation, and sub-acute care environments with a primarily adult through geriatric population. David also volunteers at The Hope Center Free Medical Clinic and Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) NEPA, a regional task force committed to advanced care planning and honoring patient wishes at end-of-life.
